Foot Reflexology

Foot Reflexology is a science in the alternative or complementary healing realm. It involves a hands-on manipulation of reflexes centered in the feet. The manipulation of the reflexes sends stimuli to the various organs and glands that they correspond with to revitalize, re-activate, and regenerate the body. Reflexology’s main goal is to bring the body into a state of balance or homeostasis. Pain, discomfort, and many diseases anywhere in the body may be eliminated by massage-like techniques used on the reflexes in the feet.

Foot Reflexology was used by early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians, and Egyptians to aid in the healing process. The Physician’s tomb in Egypt has a picture recording this practice. Zone therapy was the first known attempt to explain how Reflexology worked. Zone therapy states that we all have 10 lines or zones, one for each finger and toe. The zone runs the entire length of the body as well as front to back. Therefore by stimulating reflexes corresponding with these zones, we can effectively treat the whole body through the feet!

Foot Reflexology has been shown to relieve stress and tension and induce deep relaxation. It enhances blood circulation. Cleans out toxins. Revitalizes your energy and balances your whole system.
